3.3. Cytoprotective effect of Quer
In order to study uk101 cytoprotective effect of Quer, Caco-2 cells were exposed to the binary (AOH + Quer and AME + Quer) and tertiary (AOH + AME + Quer) combinations (Fig. 5, Fig. 6 and Fig. 7). Mycotoxins and Quer were exposed at the same concentration range (3.125–100 μM) for 24 and 48 h (Fig. 3 and Fig. 4). As shown in Fig. 5a, the combination of AOH + Quer decreased cell viability respect to AOH tested alone (from 3.125 to 100 μM). After 48 h of exposure, similar cytotoxicity effect was observed with the combination respect to AOH tested individually (Fig. 5b). Thus, Quer only increased the image cytotoxicity of AOH when is Antigen tested in combination at 24 h of exposure.
Fig. 7. Cytotoxicity effects of individual AOH (–▲–), AME (), Quer () and the tertiary combination AOH + AME + Quer (--●--) after a) 24 h and b) 48 h. AOH + AME + Quer at molar ration of 0.5:0.5:1. Results of 3 independent experiments. All values are expressed as mean ± SD. p ≤ 0.05 (*) represents significant differences between the tertiary combination and the AOH tested alone. p ≤ 0.05 (#) represents significant differences between the tertiary combination and the AME tested alone.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slide
